Making Vet Visits a Breeze for Your Furry Friend!

Stress Free vet visit for your pets.

Is your pet getting a case of the jitters thinking about going to the vet? Don’t worry, you’re not alone! Lots of pets get anxious at the vet, but there are things you can do to make it a stress-free experience for both of you.

Sugarland Cares! 🩺

Here at Sugarland, we understand that a trip to the vet can be nerve-wracking for your furry friend. Our team dedicates itself. They go the extra mile to make vet care easy and accessible. Most, they make it stress-free for all our animals and their owners.

Why Do Pets Get Anxious at the Vet?

New smells, bright lights, and strange sounds can add to the tension of a vet visit. Even the most outgoing pets can feel it. For pets who are already anxious or don’t like being around other animals, it can be scary.

How Can We Make It Easier?

Here are some paw-some tips to help your pet feel calm and comfortable at their next vet visit:

  1. Assist them in getting used to being held. Spend time touching their paws, ears, and tail at home when they’re relaxed. Start this when they’re young so they get used to it.
  2. Familiarize them with the hospital. If your pet gets stressed at the vet, try visiting beforehand for a friendly “hello.” This helps them get used to the car ride and the new place. Let us know you’re coming. We’ll make it great with treats, cuddles, and playtime with our friendly staff.
  3. Don’t make the carrier a scary place: Don’t use the carrier for vet visits. Take it on car rides and trips to new places to make it a familiar and fun space. Put their favorite toy or blanket inside to make it extra comfy.
  4. Talk to our staff: Let us know if your pet gets anxious or doesn’t like being around other animals. We can help by reserving a quiet room or using calming sprays to ease their nerves. In some cases, we may even have calming supplements or medication to help your pet relax.
  5. Stay calm yourself: Pets can pick up on your emotions. If you’re nervous, they’ll likely pick up on it too. Talk to your pet in a calm and reassuring voice before and during your visit.
